Chapathi [Indian Wheat Flat Bread]

Ingredients:
  • Wheat flour - 3 cups
  • Water - 1 cup (approx.)
  • Oil - 1 tbsp
  • Salt - optional
Directions:
  1. Take the flour in a large bowl. Mix in the salt. Add the oil and mix it thoroughly. Add water little by little until the flour combines to make dough as shown in the picture. Knead the dough for 10-15 minutes until the dough is uniform. 
  2. Make medium size balls and roll out the chapathi as flat as possible. Use flour or oil to prevent the chapathi dough from sticking to the surface while rolling out. 
  3. Heat the tawa and cook the chapathi. Flip occasionally. Add oil if desired.
